As released in the Bureau of Labor Statistics report on Friday, September 16 Arizona’s unemployment rate was 3.5 percent in August up from 3.3 percent in July.
Locally, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report released on September 28, the Tucson metropolitan area unemployment rate was 4.0 percent in August. This is a 0.7 percent decrease from the area’s unemployment rate in August 2021.
The data shows good signs of economic recovery as the state continues to recover from job losses caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
